The tourbillon was invented in 1795 to counteract the adverse effects of gravity on mechanical devices. This solution is quite clever, but not easy to implement. The device that controls a tourbillon watch has a movable frame inside which houses the movement's regulating mechanism. The constantly rotating tourbillon drives the adjustment system to perform regular 360-degree rotations, thus continuously counteracting the influence of gravity on the adjustment system and ensuring the accuracy of the movement.
